Bug: Launcher/Client NVMP batch file not working

    When you click play, a batch file is supposed to open, and say that connection failed or somthing.
    But for some reason, when i click play the normal NV launcher shows up.

    Can you post any .log files in your NV folder like described in the sub-forums sticky? Please also post your system specs.

    Thats the weird part, there ARE no logs..
    System specs
    GTX 1060 3GB
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
    Operating system: Windows 10

    NV:MP launcher is definitely running as administrator?

    Tried running the client in Admin, same thing.

    I'm guessing it's a vanilla install. Try to run NV:SE (it won't cause issues with just NV:SE) and let me know if NV:SE does the same thing.

    But NVMP still doesnt launch correctly or produce any .log files.

    Does NV:SE work if you run nvse_loader.exe? That should boot straight into NV (surpassing the launcher).

    Please restart your launcher and let it download NV:MP version 1.4.4. Please try to start again and see if any .log files are produced in your FO:NV folder. If one or more exist, please attach them to this thread.

    Restarted, launcher said version 1.4.4, But when i click play, no .LOG files were created.

    I wish I could help you further, but that means that NV:MP isn't being launched. If you aren't receiving a new file called "nvmp-launcher.log", then the actual nvmp.exe executable isn't being started. The launcher Start button initialises "nvmp.exe" which will produce "nvmp-launcher.log" and start FalloutNV.exe afterwards. The log should always be produced (as of 1.4.4) and this not starting indicates either:
    • Something is interfering with the startup procedure. You mentioned you don't have any anti-virus running in the background, which would be the only major thing to cause this.
    • Another program is killing nvmp.exe before it starts up, then it starts FO:NV directly (?)
    Like I said, because the new log file isn't being spawned I cannot identify anything within our project that could be causing this. I'll keep the bug open in case you or anyone else resolves it.
