Creating a player run trading co.

    I saw someone earlier talking about implementing a player based economy, or at least thoughts on how it would be done.

    You could kind of easily do this now: If someone created a new "Faction" that was all around trading.

    I don't know, I personally wouldn't join but it seems like an interesting idea. You could have multiple jobs inside the trading co., from gathering things to sell, repairing, storing (because im assuming storage would be the biggest issue) and carivaning the gear to established store areas.

    since enemies re spawn you can pretty easily get armor, weapons, aid... etc. And if you have stores in places that the npc vendors were removed like in primm the biggest problem would be storage and organisation.

    we already had a talk about this, it is merely just for fun making a players based economy as it is dumb to just pay someone a price when I can easily get it in 10mins

    It's definitely hard to practice from an role playing element as well. Mostly because caps aren't manageable between players.

    This would lead too players having to go to the casinos and cash in caps for chips and then chips for paper money or coins. I keep 10k worth of caps in NCR 100$ bills myself, but that's only because I like having the ability to drop money. Which even that might be problematic because the server will rollback what you've done with the cashiers sometimes. Even when you use the /save command. Only way I've stopped the cashiers from rolling back my earned chips was when I dropped the stacks of cash on the ground after cashing out, picked them up, then saving. Which is weird to say the least.

    Thats true I forgot you cant drop caps... oh well never mind then

    You can still trade goods that have value (and have a faction for it also) but indeed , it is something that is noted.

    This is definitely a cool idea but I don't see much point in it; anyone could just go to SSHQ and get a load of caps to buy the things that they want, making this system of trade redundant. It would still be a cool idea for RP though

    Nah, would be best to have an alt sit in the prospector saloon and have all the goods dropped to him, ain't gotta worry about carry weight or dying and losing stuff that way.

    indeed, it would be a quick fix for the storage problem, however, I believe alts are forbidden.

    I'm sure that if you declare what your intentions are, and call the alt something like "BOS quartermaster" and say who you are and what you use it for. I'm sure if you use it for combat then it goes bad
