    Wassup!

Another week, another update and as lots of you have probably noticed by the forum homepage... we've been changing everything!

    patchnote.png

    Game Development
    User interface:
    • Chat now has pretty message notation with system messages prefixed with either "---" or "--" giving coloured headers
    • Active chat is now more transparent than previously. (opacity changed from 90% to 70%)
    Mod:
    • Fixed crash with new animation system causing null pointer exception when actors are de-spawning or game is shutting down
    Server:
    • Removed /toggletag command in preparation for new moderation display
    • Fixed internal Lua engine stack corruption by saving stack state and restoring it
    Lua:
    • Added Player:SetOverheadTitle() Player:GetOverheadTitle
    • Added Player:SetOverheadTitleColour() Player:GetOverheadTitleColour()
    • Added MySQL database Lua class
    • Added SERVER:Init() which is called on server startup
    • Added SERVER:CreateDatabase() which spawns a persistent MySQL connection
    • Added better startup error logging for Lua engine
    • String.explode() and tprint() has been added into the util library
    • Fixed issue with Player:SendWhisperMessage() not checking if target player was invalid
    • Fixed issue with SERVER:FindPlayer() accidentally returning players as database objects
    • Fixed possible exploit with /kick command not type checking target_name
    • Heavy top secret secret freeroam work (<- Spooky I know)
    Commands:
    • Added moderator command /settitle "title" [optional]"player name"
    • Changed /help to list each command access level as categories and to use new pretty message notation
    • Passing a command to /help will display the description of the command (ie. /help help, /help w)
    • Removed defunct /setkit and /removekit
    Netcode:
    • Fixed a huge interpolation issue where higher tick rate would make game play seem smoother, and higher tick rates would cause longer interpolation delays due to math error
    • Fixed an interpolation issue where packets were estimated using the client tick rate and not the servers

    Site Development
    Styling:
    • Changed the forum lists to a dual column layout, this makes it as lot more readable and shows the recent thread activity clearer.
    • Usernames have a small hint of a shadow to make them stand out
    • Re-organised the forum sections moving around 'stickied' threads that should be elsewhere

Here's ya keys ya filthy animals..
But not that easy. You have to replace the 'DASH' text with '-' characters..
Have fun :) (Remember the 'NVMP-' section IS part of the key)
    • NVMP-6B2ADASH6DE3DASH31DEDASH7F59
    • NVMP-B156DASH89F1DASH2F7CDASH4117
    • NVMP-C0ADDASHD156DASH97AEDASHD629
    • NVMP-D913DASHD604DASH1931DASH3AF1

all gone in 5 minutes ? actually less than that ... i was waiting here at the page since about 30 minutes pressing f5 like a madman, when the keys appeared it was like entering a worm hole to an alternate and cruel future where all keys were gone.

Just would like to say i really didn't liked that "key exercise" at all (to replace the dash thing)... I just think its already very hard to get to the forum in time and quickly input the code while also having to deal with the complications of time-zones or connectivity issues (for instance the ping delay speed can vary greatly from country to country). And to my memory its the first time that happened ... could you guys just keep to the usual keys drops ?

By the time I manage to get a key, the game will have already been publicly released.

I was waiting around for a key and fell asleep two hours before this post, haha. So instead of whinging and stamping my feet like a an impolite madman (how uncouth!), I shall post a guide on how to perform a very basic Chemistry experiment!

Aim: To observe reactions using magnesium (Mg)

    Materials:
    Magnesium Ribbon (Mg)
    Hydrochloric Acid (HCI)
    Bunsen Burner
    Heatproof Mat
    Tongs
    Lighter
    Test Tube
    Matches

    Method
Part 1 - Magnesium in Acid
Put 1.5cm of HCI into a test tube
Add 3 small pieces of Mg ribbon, cover the test tube with your thumb and observe.
Light a match, remove your thumb from the opening of the test tube and quickly place the lit match into the test tube.
    Observe what reaction occurs.

    Part 2 - Burning Magnesium
Light the Bunsen burner and turn it onto the working flame.
Use the tongs to hold the Mg ribbon in the flame until it starts burning.
DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE BURNING Mg

    Have fun, Gentlemen!

(Congratulations to the guys who got a key, especially that person Jak referenced to in his twitter, who literally got a key as soon as he joined. The caption on the post is pretty funny too)
