    Hey all,

    The moment you have all been waiting for is here. We have a beta test going live on:
    Saturday the 19th @ 3pm GMT
    This is a huge moment for us as we have been working tirelessly for over a year now trying to bring a multiplayer element to Fallout NV. But the wait is over.

    How long?
    The beta test will run for around 12 hours and consist of a gun game esque game mode for the entirety of the test.

    What equipment will I have?
    Each player will spawn in with a 'kit'. There are multiple different kits in the game each containing seven different projectile firing weapons (no melee this time around, bare with us, we are working on it). You will also be given a costume to match the kit you own. These kits are randomly assigned when you spawn & re-spawn. If you don't like the kit you have when you spawn you can always type

    /setkit "kitname"
    in to chat, where "kitname" is the name of the kit you would like to have. The kit names at the moment are secret, its for you dwellers to communicate which kits you know and share the knowledge!

    What to expect from us.
    The moderation team will be on hand as much as we can. We will have some jobs fixing urgent bugs at some points in time but hopefully not too many of them will crop up! If you need any assistance in game you can type:
    Code:
    /gms - to bring the list of Game Masters up.
    
    /w "mod name" "message" - to whisper a message to the moderator.
    We are expecting lots of traffic so if your message isn't urgent or does get lost then please message us on the forums and await a reply. The servers may also be restarting at some times to hot-fix some bugs that might occur, we will try and warn you as much as possible but sometimes it might be out of our control!

    Bug reporting.
    The point of this beta test is to show off the work we have done to you lot as a thanks for all the support and keeping faith. But it is also to gain information on possible issues that might occur that we couldn't see or replicate on our machines while testing. This saves us lots of time in the long run and will help towards the reliability of the mod.
    We ask that if you do find a bug or suffer from a persistent problem that you report it using the correct channels. It is also important that you include the log files (if necessary) and go into as much detail about replicating the bug and what happened as possible.

    Things may crash and it may be frustrating but please bare with us when communicating potential problems across, we will be busy!

    Anyway you're all probably waiting for some patch notes right..

    Mod Development
    • Media pack released.
    • Server firewall support updated.
    • Animation tweaking for stability.
    • Name-tag clean up.
    • Stripped more unsafe weapons.
    • General stability fixes from a internal test.
    • Fixed a bug when posting zalgo text in chat.
    • Database lookup queries updated so they no longer have to wait until queries have completed in some cases.
    • Fixed concurrency issue from joining and leaving the server. Added more checks to combat this issue.
    • Added Lua integration to the server starting with handling players.
    • Network library updated to fix a bug with ip addresses being formatted incorrectly.
    • Lua implementation for chat messages.
    • Updated type checking for Lua which caused crashed when given incorrect parameters.
    • /kick and /bring commands for GM's.
    • Added kits for the upcoming test.
    • Fixed an inventory bug for live players seeing dead players checking there inventories and crashing when re-spawning.
    • Updated chat scroll bar to meet style guidelines.
    • Updated critical areas of the mod to be more friendly in log files. (Making our lives easier)
    • Log file now clears when you start the mod.
    • Actors get removed instantly when leaving the server removing duplicate 'empty' players.
    • Bug fix where the mod deadlocks when players are changing cells too quickly.

    Thanks for the key drop! I've been waiting to see what's in the works for over a year, just didn't make an account on here but paid attention to the twitter page.

    Seeing as how many keys have been released, I'm assuming the invite key system isn't going to be enabled or we'd have hundreds upon hundreds of testers all together, so that's a shame.

    It must be good to see all that hard work finally coming to fruition. I'm running low on internet, so if the beta test ends before the 22nd when the next billing cycle starts, do some testing for me fellow players. Thanks for the media pack guys. That's thinking of us.
