    Hey all,

    2017 is happening so fast and now that the breaks are coming to a close, the work can continue! Not the busiest of week as we have been around our families still but now we are heading back to to our flats and getting ready to continue.

    With that being said here's this weeks work! Let's go..

    Game Development

    Freeroam Server:
    • Quests disabled
    • Faction data is now imported from website, overhead faction names will only appear if user has claimed banner on forums
    • Load/save disabled
    Lua Changes:
    • Cached the resulting commands list for /help command, can be flushed with developer command /refresh
    Bug Fixes:
    • PlayerColor::GetHexDX() wasn't properly parsing colour ranges as 0.0 - 1.0
    • Removed some debug printf statements
    • Network settings now correctly sync on connect via delegated thread
    • Fixed another zalgo text exploit
    • Fixed an issue with tabbing out sometimes causing disconnections due to main mutex on network thread deadlocking variable invalidation due to list sync code on NETTIK.
    General Changes:
    • Added "sv_enablefactions" which enables/disables the NV:MP faction system
    • Faction data is now polled every 30 seconds from forum to update in-game banners if changes are made to website faction
    • Bold name tag fonts
    • When typing in chat, the most recent message will appear over the player's head
    • "X spawned" is now "X re-spawned" to better reflect how the event is fired
    • Max chat message length increased from 64 characters to 512
    • Chat input should now support UTF-8 encoding
    • Removed std::exit from unused code in first save/load hook attempt
    • Debug console window now supports indentation for advanced formatting
    • Optimisation work on name tag rendering
    • Name tag location is now based on networked entity location, not in-game entity location (for precise tracking) (*this change may be reverted after testing)
    • Overhead titles can now be set via Lua to replace faction banner (for game modes other than freeroam)
    • .cfg files now save their contents when default values are inserted (in some cases, the .cfg would end up empty if the client/server crashed or didn't shutdown correctly)

    We are still looking in to dates for the next beta test, we can't wait to see you all in game again so we will be announcing it soon once we both have a free slot in our schedules!

    Thanks to the guys who accepted Test Account into your factions for testing, it's not very clear on the media but the background colour of faction ribbons is the same for in-game faction title colours.

    As always, great work from the dev team. Just comparing the earlier builds to the current version shows just how much potential this mod has, and of course the talent of the devs.

    I'm just wondering if load/save our disabled, then uh how am i supposed to use my save where i have Caesar's face and stuff, this is going to be problematic, we've spent days making saves with the faction kit done for you to save you doing our kits. :/

    I've said multiple times that we will approach for kit rundowns. Freeroam is serverside characters, please re-read previous patch notes.

    Your custom save is viable for story servers, which has no F&A integration.

    How do you even go about disabling quests? Having trouble getting my head around how that works. xD

    How will characters be handled then if we log out do we lose all the progress or is there a way to save you character and keep the gear you got for that day
